As soon as I purchased this yarn, I knew it would make a perfect cowl. The Bulky Ribbed Cowl is soft and warm. It uses an easy stitch pattern and because the yarn is a very bulky weight, it is quick.

And, it’s a good thing too, because I live in a state that is known for bi-polar weather, so, it could be in the seventies one day and then freezing the next. We just got 2 inches of snow two days ago, and the wind has been really cold. So, right now, this bulky scarf is definitely getting some use.

Materials Needed:

P16-11.5 mm hook

Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick n’ Quick yarn, 2 skeins

3- 7/8” buttonsA small amount of thread or light-weight yarn that matches main yarn

scissors

needle

Stitches Used:

Ch= chain

dc = double crochet

Bl= back loop

Additional Terms

Back loop= stitch placed in back loop only of the stitch

Gauge:

4 inches= 6.5 dc , 6 rows

Measurements:

10” x 48”

Additional Notes:

Chain 3 counts as 1st stitch of every row. This piece is worked flat as a large rectangle. It is seamed together to finish. The buttons are non-functioning and decorative only.

Pattern:

Ch. 75.

Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook. Dc in each st across.

Row 2: ch 3(counts as 1st st here and throughout), dc in the bl of the 2nd stitch. Dc in the bl only of each stitch to the end of the row.

Row 3-10: ch 3, Repeat row 2.

Fasten off.

Follow the photos above to finish. Using pictures 4 as a guide, follow the arrow and seam the edges together. Sew buttons on in desired position. ( Buttons are decorative and not functional. )
