Here is a quick and easy snowflake pattern that can be made in an hour. And, each one takes very little yarn so one skein will be enough to make a bunch. You can use them as ornaments, or to hang them on gifts or string a bunch together to make a garland.

I used Loops &Threads Wool-like in white, which is fingering weight, but you could use other weights as well. Honestly, it would look better blocked, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Supplies:

1 skein of Loops&Threads Wool-like in white

2.5 mm hook

Scissors

Tapestry needle

Pattern:

Rnd. 1: Ch 3. Slst to first ch to join. Ch 4 , DC in center of ring. (Ch.1, DC) 4 times in center of ring. Slst to top of starting ch to join.

Rnd.2: slst in 1st ch-1 sp, ch 6, DC in next ch-1 sp, (ch 3, DC) in each ch-1 spaces around. Ch 3 and slst in 3rd ch of starting ch.

Rnd. 3: slst in first ch-3 sp, ch 6 and DC in same sp,ch 1, SC in next dc, ch 1, *DC in next ch-3 sp,ch 3, DC in same sp,ch 1, SC in next dc, ch 1*. Repeat from * to * around. SC in 1st DC of previous row, ch 1, slst to 3rd ch of starting ch.

Rnd. 4: slst in ch-3 sp, ch 5, DC in same ch-3 sp, ch 3, SC in next dc, ch 3,*DC in next ch-3 sp, ch 2, DC in same sp,ch 3, SC in next dc, ch 3*. Repeat from * to * around. Slst to 3rd ch of ch-5 to join.

Rnd. 5: Slst in ch-2. Ch 6, SC in ch-3 sp, ch 3,SC in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, * DC in ch-2 sp, ch 3, SC in ch-3 sp,ch 3, SC in next ch-3 sp*. Repeat from * to * around. Join to 3rd ch of starting ch.

Rnd. 6: ch 8, slst in 5th ch from hook( first part of tricot)* ch 5 and slst in the same sp again*. Repeat * to* once more. Ch 5, SC in the ch-3 space in between the two SC in the row below. Ch 5, * DC in the next dc, ( ch 5, slst in the top of DC) three times, ch 5, SC in ch-3 in between two SC in row below, ch 5*. Repeat from * to * around. Join to first dc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
