This was the first time I used Knit Picks Comfy yarn in a project and I will definitely use it again. It is a cotton blend so it is soft but easier to work with than plain cotton. It has great stitch definition and there are a good amount of colors to choose from. I knew I wanted to make a summer bag with this colors and after finishing it all I can think is how this stitch pattern and yarn would make a cute summer top. I guess I will add that to my list.

The Aurora Tote can be worked up in a weekend if you are an experienced crocheter, but the pattern should be easy enough for an adventurous beginner to make, as well.

Cross My Heart Boot Cuffs Free Crochet Pattern

I am still in the process of getting my older patterns back on to the blog, which has been way more time consuming than I could have ever imagined. But, since it is almost February I thought this would be the perfect time to add my Cross My Heart Boot Cuff pattern.

These boot cuffs have hearts cross stitched on them and the crab stitch is used around the edge.

I used dk weight yarn in my sample but Worsted weight yarn would work, also. Just make sure you are measuring gauge so the sizing is correct.

Omatra Square

A while back, I had an issue that caused all the posts on my blog to be lost. It has taken a while but I am slowly getting all of the free patterns back.

Crochet Cloche Pattern https://threefatescreations.com/2024/04/22/crochet-clochet-pattern/ https://threefatescreations.com/2024/04/22/crochet-clochet-pattern/#respond Mon, 22 Apr 2024 02:41:28 +0000 https://threefatescreati-etur0y51nt.live-website.com/?p=2191 Damia Cloche Free Pattern

I’m excited to be a part of the Crochet Foundry Blog Hop for the second year in a row. This year I decided to design a cloche, since I previously made the Misty Cloche in Furls Wander yarn and I really loved how it turned out. And using a size K hook it works up pretty quick.

This pattern only uses a skein of worsted yarn. I chose the color Aurora in Wander yarn. This was also the first time I was able to use a Furls Silver Metal Streamline and I think these are my new favorites. I usually use my Alpha-series hooks, but I really loved the length and weight of the metal streamlines.

I have used Lion Brand Wool-ease many times in the past but, I had never really worked with the Thick n Quick line, until I designed the Bulky Ribbed Cowl. I really loved how it turned out, and I knew I wanted to work with it again. Recently, I came up with the idea for this hat. I knew the Thick n Quick would be perfect for it. At last, I was able to use the rest of this that was left in my stash.
I think this hat would pair nicely with the Bulky Ribbed Cowl. The pom pom can be left off, if preferred, but I feel that the pom pom gives off more winter vibes. Right now, it is still really warm where I live, but it won’t be long before the cold arrives. And this hat is sure to keep you warm with it’s bulky guage. This really is the perfect hat to throw on for a snow day.

Materials Needed

10 mm hook 1 skein, Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick, in color Fisherman

Premade fur pom pom

Scissors

needle

Stitches Used

ch=chain sc =single crochet

Additional Terms

Cr-sc= crossed single crochet : skip one stitch, SC in the next stitch, SC in the skipped st.

Gauge

4 ½ cr-sc/ 8 rows =4 inches

Size

Adult

Additional Notes

The bottom ribbing is worked back and forth in rows, then joined and seamed up the side. The body is then worked in spirals around the edge of the ribbing. Because it is worked in spirals, it is easy to lose track of the beginning of a row. Use a stitch marker or scrap yarn in the first stitch to mark.

Pattern

Ribbing:
Ch.5.
Row1: SC in 2nd ch from hook and each remaining stitch.
Row 2: ch1, SC through both loops, SC in the third loop( loop behind the sc) in each of the remaining stitches.
Row 3: ch 1, SC in the third loop in next 3 stitches, SC in both loops on last stitch.
Row 4-43: Repeat row 2 and then row 3. Continue back and forth in the pattern. Fasten of. Connect the ends and seam up the side.
Body:
Rnd. 1: Attach yarn in any stitch on the end where you SC in both loops. Ch 1 and SC 44 stitches evenly around. Do not join. Put a stitch marker in first stitch.
Rnd. 2: Skip first stitch. Sc in next. Sc in skipped stitch (first cr-sc made), continue making cr-sc around until you reach the stitch marker. Do not join.
Rnd. 3-13: Repeat Round 2.
Fasten off leaving at least 10 inches of yarn. With a tapestry needle, seam the top of the hat closed. Weave in ends. Sew fur pom pom to the top of the hat.
